ffffffootball is a collaborative project that uses football/soccer as an expressive creative language. A selection of chosen applicants will explore this intersection of creativity and sport with the goal of creating new perspectives through the familiarity of football and possibilities of creative output. Given the diverse cultural values attached to the sport, applicants will have free range at expressing themselves in a cultural, political, or personal manner through their creative practice.

RULES

Form: Applicants are given the freedom to use any medium to express their creative output. The works can fall into categories such as textiles & fabrics, sculpture, painting, photography, and more.

Identity: To ensure cohesion between all of the applicant’s outputs, the works must stay thematically within the shared framework of using football as a medium itself. Applicants are free to express themselves culturally, politically, or personally as long as it is portrayed through this familiar language.

Originality: All submitted works must be original and created specifically for fffffootball. Existing or previously exhibited works are not eligible, but exceptions may apply.

Selected applicants must submit:

• The final work

• A title

• A brief written statement (50 to 150 words) explaining their concept

• Process documentation (sketches, drafts, prototypes, images, etc.)

Once the applicants are selected, they will have until June 12, 2026 to submit their works. Once received, the works will be showcased in an exhibition space in summer 2026 (exact date and location to be announced)
